A Thanksgiving Dessert Table Full of Fall Favorites

When I’m putting together a dessert table, I love including a mix of different treats. A beautiful cake makes the perfect centerpiece, while smaller desserts like cupcakes and cookies give guests plenty of options to choose from.

For this Thanksgiving dessert spread, I included a little bit of everything: festive cakes, classic fall flavors, and plenty of decorated cookies.

Here’s a closer look at all the sweet treats on the table!

Thanksgiving Dinner Sugar Cookies

These might be my favorite cookies on the entire table!

Instead of traditional Thanksgiving shapes, I decorated sugar cookies to look like all the foods you’d find on the dinner table. Turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, pumpkins, squash, and slices of pie.

They’re such a fun way to bring a little personality to a Thanksgiving dessert table, and I love how the different shapes and colors look together.

If you want to make your own Thanksgiving cookies, start with my favorite sugar cookie recipe. It’s a great base for creating all kinds of holiday shapes and designs.

White Pumpkin Cake

A white pumpkin cake makes such a beautiful centerpiece for a Thanksgiving dessert table.

I love incorporating pumpkins into fall celebrations, and a cake shaped or decorated like a pumpkin is a fun way to bring that seasonal look to the dessert spread.

The white pumpkin design feels festive without taking away from all the other colors and details on the table. It’s a beautiful addition to a Thanksgiving gathering and looks especially pretty surrounded by smaller desserts.

Salted Caramel Cake

Salted caramel is one of those flavors that feels perfect for fall!

This salted caramel cake adds another beautiful dessert option to the table and pairs perfectly with all the pumpkin, apple, and pecan-inspired treats.

I love having a couple of cakes on a dessert table because they create height and make the whole display feel extra special. Plus, a caramel dessert is always a welcome addition to a Thanksgiving menu!

Pumpkin Pie Cookies

What’s Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie?

These pumpkin pie cookies are such a cute twist on the traditional holiday dessert. They’re inspired by one of Thanksgiving’s most recognizable treats, but in cookie form!

I love adding themed cookies to dessert tables because they’re easy for guests to pick up and enjoy, and they add so much personality to the display.

These would also be adorable packaged individually as little Thanksgiving favors.

Pecan Pie Cupcakes

Pecan pie is a Thanksgiving classic, so of course I had to include a pecan-inspired dessert!

These pecan pie cupcakes are a fun alternative to serving a traditional slice of pie. Cupcakes are one of my favorite desserts for parties because they’re already portioned and easy to serve.

They’re a great addition to a Thanksgiving dessert table, especially for guests who love those classic fall flavors.

Apple Pie Cupcakes

Apple pie is another Thanksgiving favorite, and these apple pie cupcakes fit right in with the rest of the dessert spread.

I love incorporating apple desserts into fall celebrations, and cupcakes are such a fun way to serve them.

Between the apple pie cupcakes and pecan pie cupcakes, guests can enjoy a couple of Thanksgiving-inspired favorites without having to choose between full-sized pies!

Tips for Styling a Thanksgiving Dessert Table

One of my favorite parts of hosting a holiday gathering is putting together the dessert display. You don’t need dozens of different treats to make a table feel special. A few thoughtfully arranged desserts can create a beautiful presentation.

Here are a few things I like to keep in mind:

Start with a Statement Cake or two

Choose one larger dessert to serve as the focal point of your table. A decorated cake, like the white pumpkin cake or salted caramel cake, makes a beautiful centerpiece. Or you can do both, like I did!

Add Different Heights

Cake stands, serving platters, and trays can help create dimension. I love arranging desserts at different heights so everything has its own place and the table feels full without being crowded.

Mix Cakes, Cupcakes, and Cookies

Including a variety of desserts gives guests different options and makes the table more interesting. Cakes add height, cupcakes are easy to serve, and decorated sugar cookies bring in fun seasonal details.

Keep the Colors Seasonal

Fall-inspired colors are always beautiful for Thanksgiving. Think warm caramel tones, creamy whites, pumpkin orange, and soft neutrals.

The combination of these colors helps tie all the different desserts together.

Make It Easy for Guests to Serve Themselves

Arrange smaller treats where guests can easily reach them, and have plates, napkins, and serving utensils nearby.

I also love using individual desserts like cookies and cupcakes because guests can grab something sweet without needing to cut a slice of cake.
