Farmers Market Desserts to Make with Fresh Spring Produce
Spring produce just feels inspiring to me.
Farmers market season has started back up and suddenly I’m coming home with way too many berries and a fresh bouquet of flowers every weekend.
Fresh strawberries. Lemons. Blueberries. Lavender. Blackberries. Even carrots somehow feel cuter this time of year.
Back in the Jenny Cookies Bake Shop days, we used to create full farmers market-inspired dessert menus every spring. The produce-shaped sugar cookies, fruity cupcakes, classic cookies, cakes… all of it. That menu is still one of my favorites.
So if you’ve been to the farmers market recently (or are planning to go), here are some of my favorite spring desserts to make with fresh produce.
This post is all about farmers market desserts to make with fresh spring produce.

Strawberry Desserts to Make This Spring
Spring strawberries just taste better.
They’re sweeter, juicier, and don’t need much to shine.
Strawberry Crumble Bars
These bars are buttery, soft, and layered with sweet strawberry filling and crumble topping. And you can add extra protein, if that’s your thing.
They’re easy to make and perfect for brunches, baby showers, or just keeping on the counter for snacking.

strawberry shortcake
If you’re looking for a simple dessert to wow your summer guests, this simple Strawberry Shortcake recipe is the one for you. Add some chamomile, and put it on a cake plate… boom! The cutest spring dessert ever.

strawberry matcha protein chia pudding
These strawberry matcha protein chia overnight oats is one of those “throw it together at night, feel so proud of yourself in the morning” recipes. It’s creamy, lightly sweet, packed with protein, and has the prettiest soft green color from matcha. It feels like a café treat but is actually doing something good for your body.

Blueberry Desserts with Fresh Blueberries
Blueberries are one of those ingredients I buy with good intentions…and somehow they always end up in dessert!
Lemon Blueberry Loaf
Soft, moist, and packed with fresh blueberry flavor with a bright lemon finish.
This one feels like the kind of thing you’d slice up with coffee on a slow spring morning. This lemon blueberry loaf didn’t even leave the cutting board before it was gone!

Blueberry Pie Cookies
These little hand pies are one of my favorites.
Flaky pie dough filled with blueberry filling and topped with lemon icing.
They’re cute and practical.

Lemon Desserts for Spring
Lemon just belongs in spring.
It’s fresh, bright, and somehow comforting at the same time.
Lemon Cake
This soft lemon layer cake is one of my favorite spring cakes.
It’s cheerful and perfect for brunches, birthdays, or Easter.

Lemon Blackberry Cupcakes
The lemon and blackberry combo feels a little fancy without being too much.
Soft lemon cupcakes topped with blackberry frosting.
Pretty and easy.

Floral & Herb-Inspired Spring Desserts
These feel a little extra in the best way.
Honey Lavender Cupcakes
Soft floral flavor with sweet honey cream cheese frosting.
These feel perfect for spring parties or Mother’s Day.

My Baking Essentials!
Carrot Desserts for Spring
Carrots are basically a spring ingredient at this point.
Carrot Cake Cupcakes
Soft, spiced cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting.
A classic.

carrot cake with brown butter cream cheese frosting
If you already love a classic carrot cake, this version takes it just a step further.
Same soft, moist cake. Same simple ingredients. But finished with a brown butter cream cheese frosting that adds a deeper, slightly nutty flavor that makes the whole thing feel a little more elevated.
It’s still easy. Still approachable. Just a little more interesting.

Fresh Fruit Desserts
When peaches show up…
everything changes.
Peach Slump
Warm peaches baked under a soft biscuit topping.
Cozy and simple.

easy mixed berry puff pastry tart with cream cheese filling
If you’re looking for an easy dessert that feels bakery worthy but takes almost no time at all, this puff pastry tart is it. With a flaky, golden crust, fluffy cream filling, and fresh berries on top, it’s the kind of treat that looks impressive on a table but so simple to make.

Hosting Essentials:
The best part about farmers market desserts is they don’t need to be overly complicated.
Fresh ingredients do most of the work.
A few berries. A bright lemon. A soft cake. A pretty cookie. That’s enough.
If you make any of these spring dessert recipes, I’d love to hear about it!
