Update your makeup drawer with my must haves!

What’s in your makeup drawer?!  Here’s a look at what my counter looks like any typical morning. I used to be the girl who had one blush, one foundation, one eyeshadow palette (with only one out of the 4 colors used) and maybe a couple of lipsticks and glosses.  Somewhere along the way I became the girl with a plentitude of options, easily explained by the fact I have a makeup obsessed teenage daughter who is passionate about skincare, makeup and all things beauty products.  Ally has taught me not only how to use makeup, and how to appreciate and anticipate new beauty products.  Thank you tiktok.

Today is the beginning of the Sephora sale, which means depending on what “level” shopper you are, you can get a discount!  Rouge is the top tier, granting customers a 20% discount (4/14-4-24).  VIB is the next tier, which is 15% off (4/18-4/24), and the Insiders which is basically everyone, get 10% off (4/18-4/24).  No matter what tier you are, any discount adds up!  Use code: SAVENOW

Ally and I get asked often to share our go-to beauty must haves, so instead of just sharing on social media, I’m listing them all here so everything is linked and ready in one spot!  Here we go!

SuperGoop: After my skincare routine, I apply my glowscreen all over my face and neck.  I love using the golden hour shade because it’s tinted and gives me a little bit of a bronzed look.  Can be worn with or without makeup.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask:  You know how your skin gets so dry when you travel?  This mask totally rehydrates my skin!  I never travel without it.  It isn’t just for travel though.  Use it at home for dry skin.  Use it like a mask or leave it on.  Hydrates and calms skin.  Must have!

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter: After my sunscreen, I use flawless filter either underneath foundation, or as my top layer, depending on how much coverage I’m going for. Inspired by social media filters, Charlotte created this to be a confidence glow filter. It can be used as a tinted primer, under foundation, mixed with foundation, or as a highlighter on high points of the face. The light-as-air formula moisturizes for up to 24 hours while smoothing and visibly brightening skin for a radiant finish.  I wear shade 3.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin: One of my favorite foundations of all time. What makes it special?!  It’s a 16-hour natural-glow foundation with buildable medium coverage to hydrate, smooth, blur pores, and brighten skin. The lightweight, long-wearing formula helps prevent pollutant particles from penetrating the skin, strengthening its barrier and improving skin quality over time.  Seems like it’s always out of stock, so if you see your shade, grab it!  (I wear shade 5)

HourGlass Concealer: The best concealer! This crease-resistant, light-reflecting liquid concealer blends seamlessly into skin and diffuses the look of pores and fine lines. The highly pigmented formula evens skin tone to conceal the appearance of dark circles, blemishes, and other imperfections for a smooth, natural, and airbrushed finish. I wear shade silk.

Saie Glowy Highlighter: This multipurpose water-based luminizer hydrates and brightens. I wear it on the face or body for a fresh dewy look, as a spot highlighter, or mix it with my skincare or foundation for a glowy finish.

HourGlass Ambiant Soft Glow Foundation: Remember how I said I now have several makeup options?  I float between HourGlass, Charlotte and Makeup By Mario.  I have a shade darker than my normal skin tone for when I have a spray tan.  This foundation is infused with blurring spheres to minimize the look of imperfections for skin that looks smooth, even, and glowing. The transfer-resistant formula is also resistant to humidity and sweat for flawless-looking coverage that stays in place.  I wear shade 6.5

Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Shaping Stick: If there was one makeup product I don’t know how I lived without, it would be this!! This dual-ended shaping stick combines Mario’s signature contour technique into one product that creates an effortless, softly sculpted look. The shades complement complexions regardless of undertone and are never orange or muddy. They also feature a removable angled buffing brush for effortless application.  I wear shade medium.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush Wand:  After foundations, concealers and contour, it’s time for blush! Twist to open this sponge applicator, dot onto cheeks, blend, and don’t forget to twist and close the applicator after use. This product is light-weight and blends beautifully with other makeup products. Pro Tip: Apply over cream and liquid products, before setting with powders.

Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush: Another favorite blush option is this innovative blush that reacts to the skin’s moisture level upon application to deliver a customized rosy effect.  If I’m going with a more bare faced look, this gives the appearance of naturally rosy cheeks for a fresh, glowy effect.  I have the pink and coral colors in this!

Super Nudes Easy Eyeshadow Palette:  The word “easy” is in this palette name sold me.  I’ve always struggled with doing good eye makeup, so I need easy.  This palette works for just about anyone!

Refy Brow Sculpt:  Full brows are all the rage right now (let’s never let thin brows return).  I cannot live without this brow product. It’s the perfect balance between a wax and a gel, easy to apply to keep brow hairs firmly in place. The double-ended brush allows you to comb and shape your brows for a subtle everyday look, or brush and set for a fuller, prominent brow. Brows can change your entire face!  This is a must have.

Lancome Mascara Primer: I swear by using mascara primer.  Use whatever brand you like best, this is my personal favorite. This primer maximizes mascara results for major lash lift and the appearance of longer, thicker, and more volumized lashes.

Lancome Doll Lashes Mascara:  I switch mascaras around to try new things but always come back to Lancome. This mascara is enriched with nylon powders, offering an ideal lash application for sexy, fanned out lashes. This mascara creates a volumized, yet separated and extended, lifted lash look that’s perfect for fine, thin lashes.

Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer: I always have a bronzer on hand to add that bit of glow during winter months, and days I just need a little brightening. Charlotte created this bronzer to blend with the skin and warm the look of the complexion while blurring the appearance of any imperfections. It’s perfect for an all-over face and body bronze or to define and contour.

Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray:  There are a lot of setting sprays out there, but this one reigns above all. It’s hydrating, an alcohol- and oil-free spray that weightlessly sets makeup for up to 16 hours without melting, fading, or settling into fine lines.  If you’re going for a full beat look, spray this in between different layers of products (after sunscreen, after concealer and flawless finish, after foundation, etc).  It’ll keep each layer locked in!

Dior Lip Oil: If you’ve been following my socials for a year or so, you’ll know I have a lip oil in every bag, pocket and console.  These are a makeup must!  Ally and I have accumulated every color available in these glossy lip oils that protects and enhances the lips, bringing out their natural color.

Summer Fridays Butter Balm Lip: How many lip balms are too many?  I say there is never too many.  I have acquired the full collection of these and have zero regrets. Butter up on the go for a quick hit of moisture and shine—or apply at bedtime as a nourishing overnight mask.

Pat McGrath Mini Lip Trio:  Not a huge lip liner, lipstick girl, but this mini trio is a must.  The color is fantastic and the size is perfect for fanny packs, festival bags and on the go summer adventuring!  The lipgloss is great on it’s own when you don’t want a full lined lip look.

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant:  I fell victim to this highly glorified deodorant a few years ago.  I remember thinking who would pay that much for deodorant?  I do, now.  When you try it, you’ll get it.  This lux deodorant combines essences of Moroccan jasmine, lily of the valley, and warm sandalwood for a beautifully soft, floral scent. The advanced formula reduces perspiration, keeping you feeling dry and smelling fresh.

Summer Fridays Summer Silk Body Lotion:  I’m a big lather myself in lotion kind of girl.  Not only is this lotion packed with plant-derived butters and oils, is non-greasy and melts into the skin for all-day hydration, it has the incredible summer scent made up of coconut, vanilla blossom, and warm almond.

I could go on and on, but this is a good list to get you started if you’re wanting to try some new products.  If you are looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to reach out.  I love suggesting my favorites to others!  It’s always fun to try new things and learn about new products…hence why I have overflowing drawers of beauty products now.

Happy Shopping!
