I love a semi-handmade valentine.  Since my kids were in preschool, I’ve always enjoyed making thoughtful goodies for them to take to their little valentine parties. From edible treats to small trinkets, it’s fun to coordinate an extra little something with the valentine card.

I explained my valentine ideas to designer extraordinaire Harper Gray who brought them right to life.  Fishing for my son Hudson who loves any and all fish, Llamas for well, me, because I love them, and gumballs for a gender neutral option.  These simple bag toppers can be printed on label (sticker) paper and attached directly to a cellophane bag filled with coordinating candy.

Every now and then I check out what’s new at the Dollar Tree.  You never know what you’ll find….and I always find something!  Most recently I found these little generic play-doh packs that I thought would make a cute valentine.  Eight containers for ONE DOLLAR.  That’s around $3 for a class of 24 kids.  Sold. My daughter Ally can’t wait to give these out. Print our “Doh you want to be my Valentine” tags on sticker paper and you have yourself a fun treat for the class!

Maybe you want to get crazy crafty and bake heart sugar cookies (from my book
of course!!),  or you just want to bag up some fun holiday candies.  Either way, these heart tags are perfect.   Hole punch them to create a hang tag, or attach with washi tape, they’re cute no matter what way you use them!

Lastly, I love a pineapple.  I had to make a valentine with something pineapple related.  I LOVE Trader Joes pineapple juice cans and thought a patterned straw taped with washi and a straw flag would be cute.  It was!!  The front of the straw tag says “You are the Pineapple of my Eye” and the back has a space for To/From.

Not a pineapple fan?  No worries.  Homer Soda Company has every bottled soda you could imagine.  And most look vintage, which I love.  We used our heart tags and paper straws to dress the bottles up.

These make darling teacher gifts or something small you can surprise your coworker with!
