How to Host a Ladies Watch Party | Charcuterie & CharTREATerie Boards

 

 

Getting together with your girlfriends is fun, but getting together with your girlfriends in your PJ’s is even better!!  No stress, just cozy clothes and yummy food. Here’s how to host the ultimate girls night!

 

 

Ladies Watch Party

Plan for a night with something good on tv.  It could be your favorite Awards show,  a new Hallmark movie, perhaps the Bachelor/Bachelorette or if nothing else, grab a timeless romcom!

 

 

Tell the girls to wear their coziest pjs, clothes and slippers.

 

 

Prep a fun drink for the evening or keep it extra simple with a sparkling wine served in pretty glasses.

 

Add a fun detail by dropping a colorful lollipop into each glass.  It’ll sweeten up the drink and make it even prettier!

 

 

 

Instead of wine charms, I love using edible flowers for personalizing glasses.  Have everyone pick a different colored flower and place them in their glass.  It’ll be easy for everyone to keep track of their glass.

 

If you’re styling a bar cart, make sure to add plenty of water and a couple non-alcoholic options so there is something for everyone!  Stock extra glasses in case anyone wants to switch drinks.

 

After hosting parties and entertaining for 10+ years, I’ve found that girls are not big eaters at parties.  I steer away from offering a large meal and instead offer bite size treats that are easy to grab and fun to snack on throughout the event.  I started making charcuterie boards a few years ago and they’ve become a party staple in my house!

 

You might be surprised how easy they are to put together.  A quick trip to the grocery store and you’ll have everything you need!

 

Be sure to pick up a variety of cheeses, crackers, fruits and nuts.  See my step by step video for making charcuterie boards HERE!

 

 

You can also have your friends help put the board together.    People love to be assigned a “job” when they arrive at a party…at least my friends do!  They always ask how they can help.  If you plan to make a charcuterie board, this is the perfect opportunity.

 

Ask friends to rinse, cut and slice fruit.  Make it a team effort!

 

The best part of any party is dessert.  For my watch parties, I like to put together what I call, a “CharTREATerie” board.  A Chartreaterie is a board filled with cookies, chocolates, candies and any other “treat”.  These are so easy and they’re guaranteed to have something for everyone.

 

Load up on an assortment of spreads.  Think Cookie Butter and Nutella type stuff.  Trader Joes will be your best friend for these finds!

 

Use small bowls and fill with spreads.  Place them sporadically around the board.  Fill in with crackers, cookies and chocolate barks.  Mix in different flavors, varieties, colors and textures to create a beautiful board.  When you have a full platter, tuck small chocolates into holes on the board.  Think of them as the “sprinkles” to your chartreaterie board!

 

Lastly, add a few spoons or small knives for guests to use.  Your friends are going to love it!

 

The final piece to a watch party is POPCORN!  I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, popcorn is the best part of any movie!  Pop a bowl or grab pre-made and dress it up a little.   I found pink popcorn and added my favorite chocolates to it.  It adds that salty sweet element that is so fantastic.

 

 

 

Now roll the bar cart to the living room and bring the boards closer to the sofas.  It’s showtime!

 

Pour everyone a refill and pass out cozy blankets to cuddle up with.  It’s time to dig in! 

 

 

If you can’t tell from our faces, we laugh until we ugly laugh and sometimes there are even tears (happy of course).  I love these girls!!
