The Best Easy Bean Dip for Super Bowl Sunday
There are two types of Super Bowl hosts: the ones who plan a week in advance… and the ones who throw something together an hour before kickoff and hope for the best.
If you’re anything like me, you want something that feels fun and intentional but doesn’t require turning your kitchen upside down or stressing over presentation. This easy bean dip has become my go-to for game days, casual hosting, and those “need a last minute dish” moments.
It’s cozy, crowd-pleasing, forgiving, and…it disappears every single time.

Why This Bean Dip Is Perfect for Hosting
Let’s be real: hosting food should check at least a few of these boxes:
This bean dip checks all of them.
It’s also one of those recipes people hover around.
Ingredients You’ll Need
This recipe is intentionally flexible! You can adjust amounts, swap ingredients, or use what you already have.
Here’s what I typically use:
Supplies:
How to Make This Easy Bean Dip
Bean Dip
Equipment
- Casserole Pan or Mini Skillets
Ingredients
- 2 Cans Refried Beans
- 1 Lb Ground Turkey or Beef
- 4 Ripe Avocados
- 2 Cups Sour Cream
- 2 Cups Mayonaise
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Taco Seasoning
- 3 Sliced Tomatoes
- 3 Cups Shredded Cheese
- 1 Can Sliced Olives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Ground turkey or beef until fully cooked. I like to add minced onions to mine! Set aside.
- In separate bowl, mash avocados into a spread or make your favorite guacamole (I normally add sliced onions, tomatoes, and plenty of salt and pepper). Set aside.
- In separate bowl mix 2 cups sour cream with 2 cups of mayo. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of taco seasoning. Set aside.
- In a casserole dish or in individual cast iron pans begin layering ingredients starting with the refried beans. If using a casserole dish, spread entire amount. If using smaller pans, spread a layer into each.
- Add guacamole/avocado mixture over refried beans. Top with ground beef/turkey.
- Layer mayo/sour cream mixture over ground beef/turkey.
- Add shredded cheese. Top with tomatoes and sliced olives
- Bake at 375 for 35 minutes in casserole dish or 10-15 min in individual skillets.
- Serve with tortilla chips.
Make-Ahead + Hosting Tips
This is where this recipe really shines for entertaining:
For game day, I usually serve this with tortilla chips, but it’s also great with:
A simple chip bowl like this one makes even store-bought chips feel intentional.
Why This Dip Always Works for the Super Bowl
Super Bowl food doesn’t need to be fancy.
This dip fits right in next to wings, sliders, and brownies. It doesn’t compete for attention, but it always gets finished. And that’s kind of the goal, right?
It’s also one of those recipes that works just as well for:
