Baby Shower | We Love Lucy
Every mama-to-be deserves to be celebrated and spoiled in exchange for 40 long weeks of pregnancy, right?! That’s exactly what Catherine Lowe wanted for her friend Crista’s baby shower this past Saturday.
Catherine and I teamed up to throw Crista a shower to remember. With sweet baby girl “Lucy” on the way, we settled on an I Love Lucy theme and a color palette of pink, white and grey with pops of gold.
Invites were created by my go-to designer Harper Gray. She designed the cutest pink heart shaped balloon invites packaged and sent out in confetti filled boxes.
Once inflated, all the party details appear!
When I throw baby showers, I usually try to work within the color palette of the baby’s nursery so that party decor can double as nursery decor.
For baby Lucy’s shower, I had custom canvas prints made at Tiny Prints that were used as wall decor for the shower, but can also be used in baby Lucy’s nursery afterwards.
Flowers always brighten up any space and add life to parties. I put together arrangements of ranunculus, anemones, jasmine and other gorgeous greenery.
We kept the beverages rather simple with sparkling pink lemonade and berry infused water.
I used a sweet vintage high chair near the drinks to display flowers and offer beverage napkins personalized with baby’s name, Lucy Isabella.
In my opinion, the dessert table is the centerpiece of any event. I absolutely loved how this sweet baby shower dessert table turned out. There’s nothing better than when the idea in my head comes to life, exactly how I imagine it! We attached greenery on the wall in the shape of a heart (using floral tape) and filled in a section with large clusters of ranunculus, anemones, and jasmine. It was gorgeous!
The dessert table was filled with sugar cookies, cupcakes, macarons and chocolate dipped rice krispy treats and an edible gold flower topped cake!
Since the theme was all about hearts, I baked little pink hearts inside the cupcakes. To learn how to do this, watch my step-by-step video HERE.
I stamped baby’s name onto pink fondant heart shapes as cupcake toppers and cut rice krispy treats into heart shapes dipped in chocolate.
More special keepsakes from the shower were personalized pillows. These are fun to decorate a rocking chair in baby’s nursery, or even use on the floor when baby is old enough to sit and play.
If you follow my blog, you know I love an activity or DIY craft at social gatherings. It’s fun to get crafty while you visit! One of my favorite baby shower activities is making baby blocks.
For Crista’s shower, we set a baby block making table with all the fixings. Blocks, wooden letters, mod podge, paints, brushes, paint trays etc. Harper Gray made coordinating party papers to glue to the blocks (and mod podge over).
I used a vintage crib to hold all of Crista and baby Lucy’s gifts.
To eliminate one more thing on mama-to-be’s to do list, I love giving personalized thank you cards as a gift. As mom is opening baby gifts, pass around the cards and have each guest self address an envelope. It’s even more helpful to jot down a little reminder of your baby gift on the back of the card. They don’t call it mom brain for nothing! I found darling personalized thank you cards at Tiny Prints.
One last special keepsake is having each guest jot down a “Wish for Baby”. Harper Gray designed sweet little cards for guests to write little messages on for Crista. These are so special to pop into a baby book or display in a nursery.
As a small take home favor, we sent each guest with a fun EOS lip balm attached to personalized We Love Lucy cards (designed by Harper Gray).
Crista and Catherine were both glowing and radiant throughout the entire afternoon. How fun that these friends from grade school are now pregnant together. Congrats ladies!

Jenny! This is just beyond gorgeous!!!
Thanks Erica! All your design touches made it even more special 😉
Wow! Beautiful and creative baby shower!
Thank you Melly!
Everything was simply fabulous!…down to the very last detail!? (The flower heart was my fav!)
This turned out so cute! I love that you used the vintage crib for holding presents. Harper Gray Designs was amazing with all the printables as well. Those invitations…love!
This shower was beautiful! Love the theme and the name Lucy is so sweet!! Another beautiful party 😉
Such a dream! I love every single touch! Beautiful space for a shower too!
The most beautiful baby shower I have ever been to! Crista and Lucy are so lucky. Great work Jenny!
Thank you Stacey!
Everything is lovely, but … Did you intend to post Catherine’s address for the world to know?
Hi Debbie! Of course not, it’s just a made up address for the photo. I like to give my blog audience ideas for their own parties and showers. Having guests pre-address the thank you card envelopes was just an idea to help new and first time mama-to-be’s out.
I hope all of the cookie decorating & cake design were in your cookbook (which I own) or in a video! I can hope to be as good as you Jenny!
Hi Jenny. Where did you find the darling dessert table? It is always a pleasure to see your blog posts. Thanks for giving us insight and inspiration.
Thanks! I bought it at a flea market 🙂
Everything is perfect! Can you tell me where you ordered the pillows? I didn’t notice a link. Thanks!
Hi Heather! Harper Gray designed them and we ordered them personalized from Tiny Prints!
I take pride in hobby and my work, itts clear that you do
with your informative site post. I used to be lucky to find it
here. Thank you for posting this info aand I’ve saved
the site so I can find my way back here!
I really want to do a baby block making table for my daughter’s baby shower. I have never done one before so I hope you can help me create a list of what’s needed. You mention some of it above but I was wondering about what to use other than letters for the blocks. I see you had paper from Harper Gray. Did the guests have to cut them down to fit the blocks? Is the modge podge glue consistency? So sorry for all the questions! (FYI the shower is a nautical theme but the baby’s room will be mint/gray (it’s a boy). Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi Nancy, You can pre-cut the paper before the shower to eliminate a job for the guests. Any scrapbook paper will work, I’m sure you can find something to coordinate your shower theme at Michael’s or JoAnn Fabrics! The mod podge glue found at craft stores. You only need a tiny bit and it dries quickly. Good luck!
Beautiful! What venue was the shower hosted at?
Hi Patti! The shower was held in KCB Photography’s studio in Everett 🙂
How did you make the floral heart – what did you use for the greenery? It’s just gorgeous!
