Hallmark Home and Family
Last month I had the opportunity to be a guest on Hallmark’s Home and Family show in California. The show loved our Breakfast of Champions menu at Jenny Cookies Bake Shop and asked if I’d teach them how to make breakfast cookies on the show!
I headed down to Burbank with two of my favorite girls, Kelly and Erica. Kelly and I always travel together for work but it was our first trip with Erica, and she is nothing short of magical.
Last year I during a cookie squad team outing, it came up that I had been asked to do several competition baking shows but none were anything I wanted to do. Erica quickly piped up and said “JENNY! If you ever go on Hallmark’s Home and Family show, I AM GOING WITH YOU!!”
When we arrived to the show, one of their amazing producers walked me through the set and flipped through my cookbook to find just the perfect images to share on the show.
I was able to meet Joann, who was the head of the kitchen. She baked my cookies and icing ahead of time so I didn’t have to bring any!
As I was getting prepped, Erica was making friends with everyone on the set, exchanging numbers and instagram handles with all of them. I kid you not, she could make friends with anyone.
Debbie and Cameron were fantastic, along with the rest of the crew. I truly felt loved and appreciated the entire time I was there. They were excited and eager to learn buttercream cookie decorating and more than happy to try samples!
When the segment wrapped, I was able to introduce Erica to Debbie. Erica wiped the tears away as she told Debbie that she religiously watches the show every single morning. Debbie could not have been sweeter in her response.
It was the best experience. Every single person that works on their show is genuine, kind and welcoming, exactly what the heart of television should be. We were thrilled to be welcomed into the Hallmark family!
As we left, we were told we could peek around some of the back lot sets. Kelly was excited to see the set of The Good Place. I haven’t seen it (to be honest, I don’t watch much tv) but I happily posed for her in front of some of the little areas! So colorful and cute.
It was a truly heartwarming experience, one that I can’t wait to do again! If you missed the Hallmark Home and Family segment, you can see the full segment HERE!!
